Multicultural Fashion Parade @ City Library Events Space-Sunday 25th  March 2pm

Come and watch as an array of local people model traditional costumes from their home countries in a fabulous multicultural moment. A free event.


Traditional Craft - Monday 26 March - 12 p.m.

A craft session with Te Whare Akonga – Open Learning Centre Manawatu Inc. Come and watch - and even join in! (Materials provided).


Tai Chi on Tuesday @ City Library Events Space-Tuesday 27th March

Come and join a local Tai Chi teacher as they run a brief class in the City Library. Watch, join in or ask questions. A free event.


Te Ara - Thursday 29 March - 7 p.m.

Join NgaPareHauOTeWa in recounting a real and imagined trip by two New Zealanders around the world. Warren and Virginia Warbrick – NgaPareHauOTeWa – present multimedia work including nga taonga puoro (traditional Maori musical instruments).


Hot Hula on Friday @ City Library Events Space-Friday 30th March

The new favourite form of exercise and fun. Hot Hula is easy to perform dance movements set to the sounds of traditional Polynesian drum beats fused with funky Reggae music. Come and watch or join in as a Hot Hula instruction from Auckland runs some fun taster sessions in the City Library. This event is Supported by Settlement Support Manawatu- the local migrant information and support service.


Tango Evening - Friday 30 March - 7p.m.

Massey School of Linguistics & International Languages, the City Library and the Embassy of Argentina invite you to an evening of tango music, dancing, singing, and Argentine wine, featuring 4XTANGO, headed by Maestro Emilio Bertrand, and Alex White & Jacinta Roe from Viva Latina Dance Co.


Highbury Weavers - Friday 30 March - 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Join the Highbury weaving roopu in the Living Room of the City for their regular Friday get together. This talented group will share their knowledge and skills in a warm and welcoming environment. Feel free to come along and have a go.
