East meets West

Join  poet and playwright Renee Liang and composers Robbie Ellis and Andrew Corrêa as they present their latest work.  Renee will perform some of her thought-provoking poetry, while Robbie will present recent original compositions including Seven Banana Songs, which had its world premiere in January and for which Renee was librettist.  Soprano Frances Moore and pianist Catherine Norton will perform.  Renee and Andrew will talk about their collaboration on The Bone Feeder, a play on at The Globe as part of the Festival of Cultures.

Award winning guzheng (Chinese zither) player Xiyao Chen will present some of the original music from the play as well as some traditional classical Chinese pieces, and a collaboration with Renee entitled Jade Chinglish.  Frances and Catherine will round off the programme with some classical western music, including operatic arias.

You are invited to stay afterwards for a tea, coffee, cake and a chat with the artists.  Books and scores will be available for sale.
